Salty Snippets: A Look Into One of Our Meetings
This evening, the entire Salt team gathered in order to get to know each other on a deeper level and determine the roles we would have as we moved forward in making Salt a real thing. I had been reading this book called Garden City and was moved by a set of questions the author John Mark posed when looking at your passions and determining if they align with God’s calling in your life. It dawned on me that these questions would be a great tool in getting to know the team better, so tonight we went through them. If you are in charge of a team, or organizing a team of people sitting down and having them answer these questions will help you understand your team better, and get an better overall feel of your team’s strengths and weaknesses. Try it out! Give them about five minutes to answer each one, then when you are done go around and share with the others. It truly is a great exercise.
- What do you love to do?
- What are you good at?
- And what do you want to be better at?
For us, these questions revealed qualities and passions that could be applied to different jobs within Salt. They helped us place people in jobs where they were pushed to improve on things they want to get better at as well as areas where they already thrive.
This night was a catalyzing one, getting everyone excited about Salt and all it entails for the future!
